This weekend has had the lead word "slow", everything has been in slow-motion. We've been out in the woods; for two days of nice and slow walks, looking for chanterelles and picnic in the green grass, enjoying good company and trying not to think that I will "lose" my girl for about nine weeks.
Lexi and I have a new little friend living with us for a week when his family is in Turkey, his name is Zizou.

Today Lexi moved in with Veronica and her girls. It's really empty at home and I don't know how I will manage for about 9 weeks. The days are getting closer for the pupps to arrive and I do hope everything will work out all right.
It's been a lot of comments in the guestbook about how big Lexi is getting and I can just say that you should see her now ;). Take a look at the most resent piccs taken of Lexi from this past weekend, day 56>>

My sweet and fat girl, trying the best she can to tag along.!

Lexi get lots of treats at the moment, like pig's ears and bones. It's not that she's eating them but it so, so funny seeing her running around in my 1 room apartment trying to hide them. I often laugh until tears come in my eyes.
She gets the longest face and her eyes looks kind of misty, it's like she's in another world. And I must say that she looks really stupid when she gets like that.
She's not the best when it comes to hide things; I often find things laying right on the floor, and when she sees that I found what ever it is that she had hidden; she gets really upset and rushes to it and tries to hide it some where else. And at that point its like a tornado has passed trough my apartment, everything is in absolute chaos. It's also very important to her that my cat Oscar doesn't see what she's hiding, if he does she has a hard time trying to find a new place for her treasure, and he doesn't care at all!!
So at this point my apartment is full of pig's ears and bones and biscuits that Lexi has hidden, yesterday I found an ear in my bed and today she did hide a "hotdog" in my sofa. When it comes to the "hotdog" I'm really happy that she is such a terrible treat hider, she had put it just between the pillows and was easy for me to see. Imagine the smell if she would have hidden it somewhere else, in a place where I wouldn't see it.

Lexi hides a pig's ear.

See, it's gone!!

Tiered after all this treasure hiding!

I finally discovered the secret on how to get Lexi to eat; its dried liver crushed and sprinkled over her food!!! Nothing else will do; if she doesn't get it she still want eat. So for the last three days she's been eating like a mad man!!! Getting bigger and bigger for every bite she takes ;).

Last week my youngest brother had his last day of school and of course Lexi and I had to be there and celebrate with him. Lexi ones again showed what a fantastic dog she is. It was people everywhere, my niece Bea was running around and Lexi behaved like the princess she is. Bea is absolutely fascinated by Lexi and wants to be near her all the time; she's hugging her, petting her and leans against her and that doesn't bother Lexi at all.

It's not easy to have a pregnant dog at home. For the last 1,5 week she's been on a strike! She doesn't want to move at all, the heat is killing her, she don't drink that much and worst of all she doesn't eat! It's not that she's not hungry; I can tell that she is, but nothing seems to be in her liking. I think that I've tried everything, yesterday all she ate was a couple of frolic bits! If I try to put her dried dog food in the bowl with something yummy around it she looks at me like I'm crazy! Her food account is starting to get quite expensive at this point and it's only been about 30 day's of pregnancy. So if anyone has any idea's on how to get her to eat; please let me know!!!

Beautiful girl!

Like a lion queen!

This weekend Lexi and I attended a course that I have looked forward to for a long, long time. We learnt how to find chanterelles. We both like to walk in the woods and I do like to seek for chanterelles; so I hope this kind of "tracking" will be fun for us both. It might seam a bit odd to track for chanterelles in May but we did use frozen ones and we will train during the summer and after midsummer when the chanterelles will start to grow we hope be ready to find some fresh ones ;), or at least I hope we will!!!
The course took place out in Huddinge and teaching us was Carina Persson from the company Hundklok.
Carina is the dog trainer that we use at the doggy day-care centre where I work. She has lots of different courses and I'm so happy that I have the opportunity to attend some of them.
She's a brilliant teacher with so much experience from many years with all kinds of dogs; and to be honest I think she needed some of that experience when it came to find the best ways to motivate Lexi aka The Princess ;).
There were 4 dogs seeking for chanterelles these two days; Otto an 8 months old Lagotto, Rasmus a 6 years old Rottweiler, Aston a 1, 5 years Rottweiler and Lexi soon to be 3.
All of the boys showed how fun it was to work and kept doing the exercises time after time.
Otto was so fantastic, a true tracker. He was truly the star of this course.
Lexi on the other hand showed that she's a true RR when it comes to working with things that she thinks is unnecessary. She got the part of the chanterelles really fast and also that she got a really good reward when she found them. But it was hard to motivate her to keep on tracking; she was rather hard to read.
It was really fun to see how she behaved, she made me realise once again how much I have to work to motivate her. But at the end of day two we had made a lot of progress and I do see a bright future when it comes to us finding chanterelles.

Yesterday Lexi and I joined Helena and Kiara for a long walk and a picnic in the forest. Helena was watching Kiaras brother Enzo for the day. He came all the way from Halmstad to spend some time with us and I just have to say what a fantastic dog he is, so sweet and nice; both Helena and I fell in love and made planes to keep him here with us ;).
More piccs will come.

Our morning started quit early at 8 o'clock (its Sunday after all ;)) with a friend of mine, Karin and her dog Aston, came to pick us up. We set our way to Värmdö to attend an open trial field tracking with Lexi. Judge for the day was Mats Jonsson, Svenska Schweisshundklubben. Lexi tracked her self to a first price and can now put the title SvCH (the title has not been confirmed yet) to her name.
After the fantastic start of the day we went to the forest in ?lta for a walk and some playtime for the dogs. Lexi are now heavily asleep under a blanket in my bed :).

Today we went to attend Lexis Mentally test. She did very well and showed what I already did know; she's a well balanced and relaxed girl that's not afraid of gunshot and can handle stressful situations. The judge and the test leader thought that she was a very social and friendly girl.
You can see the test result here >> (Only in Swedish)

Am I supposed to run after that thing??

I might as well check it out..
